Publications
International Development is a rapidly growing field in Canada, as is evidenced by the vast amount of material being published on the topic. CASID Members are important generators of this content, and this section contains information on their recent publications, as well as new book recommendations and reviews of these materials.
CASID also oversees the publication of two periodicals, the Canadian Journal of Development Studies and the Development Forum. The CJDS is CASID’s flagship publication. Published four times a year, CJDS provides an interdisciplinary, bilingual forum for critical research and reflection upon development theory and the complex problems of development policy and practice. For more information, see the CJDS section on this website.
The Development Forum is published two or three times a year, deriving its content from CASID-sponsored Development Forum conferences. It is meant to be a policy-focused publication written by academics and professionals, but not for academics and professionals. Past Development Forums have covered issues such as Canada's role in Afghanistan and the mid-term progress of the Millennium Development Goals. Visit the Development Forum section on this site to receive Calls-for-Proposals to hold a Development Forum conference, or download the latest Development Forum publications.
