Instructions for Submitting
Only CASID members may submit a Development Forum brief and vote on them. An overview of the benefits of membership can be found here, as well as instructions on purchasing membership (which can be done here). Once you've successfully purchased membership, an account will be created for you on the CASID website and the log-in details emailed to address you specfied in your membership application. When you receive your log-in information, navigate to the user-login page and log-in to the CASID website.
You should see an option under the heading 'User Menu' on the right to 'Create Content'. If you click this option you will be presented with the option to create several types of content (Upcoming Conference, Calls for Papers, Career Opportunities, and Development Forum briefs). Click 'Development Forum Briefs' and follow the instructions - your Brief will appear shortly after you click the Submit button.
A Development Forum Brief should be between 1000 and 1500 words, use minimal academic jargon or citations, and be written for the general public. The focus should be on Canadian development policy, though analytical and critical perspectives are welcome as well. If you must include citations, please use the author-date format in text, and full notes at the end of the document (specific formatting is not required, so long as the relevant information is included). You may also use hyperlinks if the source is available online.
Development Forum Briefs are eligible to be rated by other CASID members - you can view present submissions here. At the end of the paper submission period, the CASID Executive Committee will pick 8 to 10 of the papers - taking into considerations the input of the CASID community - for publication in the Development Forum pamphlet. If you have any questions or would prefer to submit your paper directly to the adminstrator, please use this email address (your paper will still be posted online by the administrator). Don't forget to check the Call for Papers page for more information. Good Luck!
