On the Brink of 2015: a shift from Education for All to Learning for All - University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa's School of International Development and Global Studies(EDIM-SIDGS) is hosting a conference and learning forum on education and development, 'On the Brink of 2015: a shift from Education for All to Learning for All', in collaboration with the Canadian Global Campaign for Education (CGCE) and CIDA.
The conference will take place on 28-29 February 2012, 12th Floor, Desmarais Hall, University of Ottawa from 8 am to 5 pm.
The Education for All goals have guided unprecedented attention to basic education around the world for more than a decade. But how do we move beyond quantity issues to address the goal that perhaps has the most lasting impact – the quality of education?
Some Highlights Include:
-Keynote address by the Rt. Hon. Michaëlle Jean, UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti and Chancellor, University of Ottawa
-International and Canadian panellists from NGOs and civil society actors including the Hewlett Foundation, Plan International, Save the Children, World Vision, and others
-Interactive discussions on the future of Canadian engagement in education and development

Dean Pollock-Ellwand, with a background in Landscape Architecture, Architecture and Planning, is dedicated to a collaborative multi-disciplinary perspective in teaching and research at EVDS. Her scholarship focuses on the history of landscape manifested in urban reform, landscape design and heritage conservation. She serves as an Expert Advisor to the International Council on Monuments and Site as a Cultural Landscape specialist.
