Communications

As part of its mission to promote networking and collaboration in the Canadian International Development Studies (IDS) community, CASID maintains a number of different channels of communication. Many of these are available to all interested parties.

The CASID Listserv

CASID also co-ordinates an electronic discussion that allows you to participate in an ongoing discussion of international development issues with colleagues in Canada and world-wide. We also distribute the Newsletter and most of the Annual Conference information through the listserv. It is your best method to keep current on CASID events.

The list name is CASID. We are grateful to McGill University, which has housed the list on their server since it was first set up. You will need to subscribe to receive or send messages. Messages posted to the listserv are distributed to all registered members. Follow the link at the bottom of the page to get instructions on signing up or removing yourself from the listserv.

Surveys and Polls

CASID members who have an account on this website may also participate in CASID surveys and polls.

In the Surveys and Polls section, members may complete an online evaluation of CASID, as well as vote in the annual Executive Committee elections. The latter is typically conducted in the month leading up to the Annual Conference, and the results announced at the Annual General Membership assembly. From time to time, CASID may conduct other polls to its members, in order to get valuable information to further international development studies in Canada.

Important Events' Locations

The map below displays the locations of upcoming events and calls-for-papers. Upcoming events are indicated by a green marker, and calls-for-papers by an orange marker. Multiple markers in similar locations are indicated by a cluster. Zooming in may separate them, though you can click on the cluster marker to see a list of the items. Click on the title of an event to view its details on a separate page.
